Check out the Guide Icarus and Freedom Center published:

The great website by Icarus collaborator Gianna Kali:

http://bipolarblast.wordpress.com/

And the UK site Coming Off developed by Rufus May:

There are also some shows on Madness Radio related to coming off meds:

And the amount of Internet info on coming off is growing. A few sites worth checking out:

http://www.benzo.org.uk/healy.htm

http://www.peter-lehmann-publishing.com/withdraw.htm

Hey Y'all!
I'm bumping this up because it has some super helpful links and I know a lot of folks are struggling with the detox/withdraw process lately and I'm really feelin' for folks and hoping everyone stays safe and supported in the process.

GiannaKali's new social networking site for coming off and living without meds:

http://beyondmeds.ning.com/

Also a new Facebook group if you're into that:

Another resource: the only residential center for psych med detox (other than recreationally abused meds like benzos and stimulants):

I've spent some time at this center in SF (Alternatives to Meds). I know the director, Lyle Murphy, who is a great guy.

They have a really innovative program with a high success rate.

If anyone wants to talk to me directly about the two days I spent there (as an observer participant) I'd be happy to share my perceptions.

Lyle continues to be someone I share info with.

Just send me an IM if you want more info.

good people.

Label me Sane has been around a long time...very overpriced supplements you can get elsewhere for a lot less...

BUT the program is sound...and offers phone support so if you feel like dishing out the cash for the phone support it can be worth it.

i tend to stay away from recc'ing the expensive options, definitely wouldn't include it in the resource listing for the coming off meds guide.

yeah, well, I don't recommend them in general, but I do know people who have found them helpful...

I don't have a link to them on my site either, however, and I'm guessing it's because we share that viewpoint....
