7th attempt coming off serequel

7th attempt coming off serequel

Postby Khalsa44 » May 12, 2013 8:52 pm

Hi
I'm on my journey off meds. This is my 7th time coming off.

I'm down from 400mg of serequel in December last yr to 50mg now.

It's scary and frustrating because of past extreme withdrawal states that left me feeling helpless.

Has anyone successfully gone through this process that can offer me inspiration?

I have made lifestyle changes, have support and self love.

The biggest challenges I have is feeling strong negative emotion.

Thanks for listening

Blissings to you

I came off seroquel in the summer of 2010. I did it by myself, and I did it fast (not advised), and by September I was in an extreme state and hospitalised. They put me on another anti-psychotic, called amisulpride. I came off that last summer, again by myself, and again almost certainly too fast (I know the right way to do it, but I become so impatient I just want the poison out of my body). Again, I was in an extreme state by September, but this time I avoided hospital and I haven't taken an anti-psychotic since. They did start me on depakote, but for the moment that's an acceptable compromise for me, because it doesn't kill my energy and deaden my soul the way the other drugs did.

Hi yellowrose and silk!

Great 2 hear from u

My plan is to spend as much time in nature as I can
Yoga, meditation, cooking, art
See friends
Prayer
Let go of force and do what I feel like

What ways of being have helped u come off (or u sense may help)
and feel like your true self?

Hi

I went down to 43mg last nite

I woke up twice in a state of panic with racing thoughts saying I can't reduce! And wanting to go take my normal dose

Life has felt very challenging lately so I just need a rest

I feel I need to focus on uplifting my life and resting and the process of withdrawal will take care of itself

How is your journey going today?

Love Khalsa
